final project proposal

I plan to create a simple environment that is centered on a flower vase. The flowers may be one if not both texture paintings and/or procedurally created.

My primary focus will be on Sub-Surface Scattering to get the flowers to look realistic. If time permits, I will create variations of flower types and dress up the setting/environment. The flowers just really need to stop looking like BBQ Potato Chips…

So here’s what’s to do’s.

SECOND HALF OF ANIMEHTION
-Sled Reigns need to be worked.
+ Not able to texture the second one (what’s up with that??)
+ Some of the animation looks buggy

+ Boy should be a simple match of node networks

Testing an image in Maya with Renderman. I think that following the pursuit of a coral scene is more intriguing and rewarding than pursuing the aforementioned “paint strokes.”

Here’s a still shot in case you are motion-sickness prone.

Most of the work has gone into the foreground. I imagine that there will be some depth of field in the end, so some of the background elements do not require as much detail. There’ll probably be some more browns and darker blues to indicate terrain, however.
